SUMMARY:SGS Annual Meeting & Guest Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Come out for the SGS Annual General Meeting (AGM)  and hear what we accomplished in 2025 and where we’re going in 2026.  We’d love to hear your feedback and better yet\, why not give some consideration to becoming a Board member\, and be a leader.  You do not have to be an SGS member to attend\, but you do need to be a member to vote. \nStick around after the AGM for a presentation by Marie Palmer at 11:00 a.m.  Marie is going to give a presentation on Investigative Genetic Genealogy(IGG).  She is an Accredited Investigative Genetic Genealogist (AIGG) and educator based in Canada. \nIGG offers an exciting new opportunity to help law enforcement give names back to unidentified human remains and help solve criminal cases.  Since the first high-profile case was solved in 2018\, well over a thousand cases have been cracked using IGG.  Canada has its own share of successful case solves and there is much discussion\, controversy\, and numerous questions around this new way of generating leads in cold cases.  In this presentation\, Marie Palmer\, who has numerous case solves will give an overview of IGG and walk through a Canadian case study about one of her first successful identifications.
