Join us! eHealth Saskatchewan campaign
The biggest frustration we hear from our members, as well as non-members from around the globe who are researching their Saskatchewan roots, is about the lack of access to updated indexes for birth, marriage and death records in Saskatchewan; as well as the cost for copies of records. The Saskatchewan Genealogical Society has met with and written to the Government of Saskatchewan on numerous occasions to share the frustrations on behalf of our members; to advocate for online indexes and lower costs; and to offer assistance. We have repeatedly been told this is not a priority for the government or for eHealth Saskatchewan.
But we’re not giving up. SGS recently sent another letter advocating for these changes to the Minister responsible for eHealth Saskatchewan, as well as the CEO of eHealth Saskatchewan along with an inter-provincial comparison to show how poorly Saskatchewan measures up.
And this is where you come in. You can show your support by also writing a letter to the Minister and the CEO, and you may want to also send a copy to your MLA, to express your frustration and concerns. Feel free to write a letter in your own words or simply date, add your return address and sign your name on the sample letter(see link below). Also please feel free to pass this on to others that share our frustrations and encourage them to participate in this effort to advocate for change.
Let’s show the government and eHealth Saskatchewan that this is important to a lot of people. Please support SGS’s effort to advocate for change by sending your letter today.
Thank you. We appreciate it.
